Meet Megan

Rooted in Brevard. Committed to our Families, Students and Teachers.

Megan Wright is a lifelong Brevard County resident, proud Brevard Public Schools graduate, and dedicated mother who has called the Space Coast home her entire life. She met her husband here, and together they have been married for over 20 years, raising two wonderful daughters—one who graduated from BPS with her associate’s degree in 2023, and the other currently thriving in our district’s schools.

Before serving on the School Board, Megan founded and operated a home health agency for over a decade, specializing in compassionate care for individuals with developmental disabilities. This hands-on experience in supporting families and building community trust inspired her to run for office in 2022, where she won decisively to bring fresh, parent-focused leadership to District 1.

Her goal is simple: ensure every Brevard student receives the high-quality, accountable education they deserve—rooted in the values that make our community strong. With her family deeply invested in Brevard’s future, Megan continues fighting for schools that prioritize students, empower parents, and deliver results—like the historic graduation rates and back-to-back “A” district ratings achieved under her tenure.

Brevard earned a Florida Department of Education “A” district grade in consecutive years (2024 and 2025) — signaling sustained academic excellence across schools.

In the 2024–2025 school year, BPS posted a 92.7% graduation rate, the highest in district history and an improvement over the previous year and even surpassing the state record of 92.3%!

In the 2024–2025 school year, BPS posted a 92.7% graduation rate, the highest in district history and an improvement over the previous year and even surpassing the state record of 92.3%!

Under Megan’s leadership, Brevard has strengthened campus safety with the installation of OpenGate weapons detection systems in all high schools. The expansion of the School Guardian Program and Bus Patrol stop-arm cameras has added additional layers of protection for students both on campus and on school buses.

Creating a secure learning environment remains a top priority.

Megan ran on expanding the Career and Technical Education programs to align with the Space Coast’s growing aerospace, aviation, and technical industries – and that is what has been done. This includes launching a $2M+ federally funded Aviation Assembly and Fabrication Program and implementing a five-year plan to add up to 18 new CTE offerings.

These programs equip students with industry certifications, hands-on skills, and workforce-ready credentials without requiring a traditional four-year degree. This continues to be a focus of Megan’s re-election campaign.
